Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Welcome to Owl by Mytko at owlbymytko.co.uk. These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of our website and to purchases of our digital downloadable products and handmade physical products.

By accessing or using our website, placing an order, or purchasing a product from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. About Owl by Mytko

Owl by Mytko is a handmade creative business offering a selection of:

  • Instant-download digital PDF files and listings
  • Handmade fabric products
  • Sewing and textile-related products
  • Products made using different fabric types, colours, prints and variations
  • Personalised or made-to-order products where specifically stated
  • Other handmade and digital items described on our website

Our handmade products are individually made and may therefore have natural variations in fabric placement, pattern, colour, texture and finish.

If you have any questions about a product or your order, please contact us:

Email: owlbymytko@gmail.com
Website: owlbymytko.co.uk

2. Product Descriptions

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, measurements, colours and other information displayed on our website are accurate.

However, handmade products can vary slightly from photographs or examples shown online. This may include:

  • Fabric pattern placement
  • Print positioning
  • Colour and shade
  • Texture
  • Stitching and finishing
  • Minor differences caused by the handmade nature of the product

Where a product is made from a particular fabric, the exact position of a pattern or print may differ from the photograph.

For products made using different fabric variations, the fabric used will be the variation selected by you at the time of purchase, where applicable.

Please carefully read the individual product description before placing your order.

3. Handmade Products

All physical products sold by Owl by Mytko are handmade or individually prepared by us unless the product description states otherwise.

Because our products are handmade, minor differences between individual items are normal and are not considered defects where they do not materially affect the product’s quality, functionality or description.

Each item is made with care and attention. We aim to ensure that products are of satisfactory quality, fit for their intended purpose where applicable, and as described on the website.

4. Fabric Variations

Our products may be made using a variety of fabrics, including different colours, prints, patterns, textures and materials.

Fabric availability can change from time to time. Where a product listing provides a choice of fabrics, you should select your preferred option before completing your purchase.

Due to differences between individual screens, monitors, phones and devices, the colour shown on your screen may not exactly match the physical fabric.

Where a particular fabric becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you where a suitable alternative is required. We will not substitute a materially different fabric without appropriate communication with you.

5. Digital Products and Instant Downloads

Some products sold through owlbymytko.co.uk are digital products supplied electronically.

Digital products may include:

  • PDF files
  • Sewing patterns
  • Templates
  • Printable documents
  • Instructions
  • Guides
  • Other downloadable files specified in the product listing

Digital products do not include a physical item unless the product description specifically states otherwise.

After successful payment, the digital product will be made available for download using the download method provided on the website, checkout page or order confirmation.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing an accurate email address where required
  • Having a suitable device capable of downloading and opening the file
  • Having suitable software to open PDF or other supplied file formats
  • Having access to an internet connection
  • Checking your spam or junk-mail folder where download information is sent by email

If you experience a problem downloading or opening a purchased file, please contact us at owlbymytko@gmail.com and we will make reasonable efforts to assist you.

6. Digital Download Errors

If a digital file is corrupted, defective, incomplete or materially different from the product description, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Where appropriate, we may provide:

  • A replacement file
  • A corrected or updated file
  • Technical assistance
  • A refund or another appropriate remedy where required by law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.

7. Printing Digital Files

Where digital products are intended to be printed, the product description or instructions may specify the appropriate paper size or printing requirements.

You are responsible for checking printer settings before printing.

Where applicable, we recommend using settings such as 100% / Actual Size and checking any included test square or measurement reference before using the printed pattern or template.

We cannot be responsible for problems caused by:

  • Incorrect printer settings
  • Incorrect paper size
  • Printer calibration
  • Scaling or automatic resizing
  • Failure to check a test measurement
  • Problems with your printer, computer, phone or other equipment

8. Intellectual Property and Copyright

  • Instructions
  • Photographs
  • Product designs
  • Illustrations
  • Graphics

  • Logos
  • Website content
  • Videos or instructional materials

is protected by applicable intellectual property and copyright laws.

Unless otherwise stated, the intellectual property rights remain with Owl by Mytko or the relevant rights holder.

Purchasing a digital product does not transfer copyright or ownership of the digital design to you.

9. Personal Use of Digital Products

Unless the individual product listing specifically states otherwise, digital PDF products purchased from Owl by Mytko are provided for your personal use.

You may:

  • Download the purchased file
  • Save the file for your own personal use
  • Print reasonable copies for your own personal use
  • Use the instructions or pattern to create items for yourself or as gifts

You must not, without our prior written permission:

  • Resell the digital file
  • Share the digital file with another person
  • Upload the file to a website, social media platform, file-sharing service or online group
  • Distribute the file by email or messaging services
  • Sell printed copies of the digital file

  • Claim the design, pattern, instructions or artwork as your own
  • Create and sell another digital product substantially based on our digital file
  • Use our photographs, artwork, text or designs commercially without permission

Purchasing a digital file does not give you permission to redistribute or commercially exploit the file itself.

10. Commercial Use of Digital Patterns or Designs

Unless a product listing specifically grants commercial rights, our digital patterns, templates and designs are not automatically licensed for commercial production.

If you wish to use a purchased pattern or design to produce physical products for commercial sale, please contact us at:

owlbymytko@gmail.com

We may provide commercial permission subject to additional terms, restrictions or licensing arrangements.

Commercial permission must be agreed in writing before commercial use begins.

11. Finished Items Made From Our Digital Patterns

Unless otherwise stated in the individual product listing, purchasing a digital pattern does not automatically grant unlimited commercial rights to sell finished products made from it.

If you intend to manufacture and sell finished items made using an Owl by Mytko pattern or design, please contact us before doing so.

Our copyright and intellectual-property rights in the underlying pattern, design, instructions, photographs and other digital content remain with us.

12. Orders and Payment

When you place an order through our website, you are requesting to purchase the products selected during checkout.

An order is normally accepted once payment has been successfully processed and we have confirmed the order.

We reserve the right to cancel an order where there is a genuine error in:

  • Product information
  • Pricing
  • Availability
  • Product description
  • Website functionality

We may also cancel or refuse an order where we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will arrange an appropriate refund where applicable.

Prices are displayed in the currency stated on the website or at checkout.

13. Physical Product Processing and Dispatch

Handmade products may require preparation and making time before they can be dispatched.

Any estimated processing or dispatch time shown on the product listing is an estimate unless a specific guaranteed date has been agreed with you.

The time required may vary depending on:

  • The type of product
  • Fabric availability
  • Whether the item is made to order
  • Personalisation requirements
  • Order volume
  • Seasonal demand

We will make reasonable efforts to process and dispatch orders within the timeframe stated in the relevant product listing.

14. Delivery

Physical products will be delivered to the address supplied when you place your order.

You are responsible for ensuring that your delivery address is correct.

Once an order has been dispatched, delivery times are generally outside our direct control and may be affected by postal services, couriers, weather, strikes, customs procedures or other circumstances.

If your order does not arrive within a reasonable period, please contact us so that we can investigate the matter and advise you of the appropriate next steps.

For international orders, the customer is responsible for complying with applicable import requirements and paying any customs duties, taxes or charges that may be imposed by the destination country, unless the product listing specifically states otherwise.

15. Returns and Cancellations — Physical Products

We want you to be happy with your purchase.

For standard physical products, UK consumer law may give you a right to cancel your order within the applicable cancellation period, subject to legal exceptions.

Where a cancellation right applies, the relevant statutory cancellation period and requirements will apply.

If you wish to cancel an eligible order, please contact us at:

owlbymytko@gmail.com

Please provide your order details so that we can identify the purchase.

Returned items should normally be unused and in their original condition, subject to your statutory rights.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or removes any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

16. Handmade, Personalised and Made-to-Order Products

Some products may be:

  • Made specifically for you
  • Personalised
  • Customised
  • Made to your selected specifications
  • Made using a fabric or combination specifically selected for your order

Certain cancellation and return rights may not apply to goods that are made to your specifications or clearly personalised, subject to applicable UK consumer law.

This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, not as described, or otherwise does not comply with applicable consumer law.

Please carefully check your chosen options, measurements, colours, personalisation details and other specifications before placing an order.

17. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products

If your physical order arrives:

  • Damaged
  • Faulty
  • Incorrect
  • Significantly different from its description
  • Missing an item

please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at owlbymytko@gmail.com.

Please include your order number and, where appropriate, photographs showing the issue.

We will assess the problem and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, refund or another remedy available under the law.

18. Handmade Variations Are Not Automatically Defects

Because our products are handmade, small variations may occur.

For example, there may be slight differences in:

  • Stitching
  • Fabric pattern placement
  • Print positioning
  • Colour
  • Texture
  • Measurements within reasonable manufacturing tolerances

Such variations are not necessarily defects where the product remains as described and fit for its intended purpose.

However, this clause does not affect your statutory rights concerning goods that are faulty, not as described, or otherwise fail to meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.

19. Digital Products and Cancellation Rights

Digital content supplied electronically may be subject to different cancellation rules from physical goods.

Where required by UK consumer law, you may have a right to cancel a digital-content purchase.

However, where you expressly agree to the immediate supply of digital content and acknowledge that you may lose your statutory cancellation right once supply begins, the applicable legal rules concerning digital content will apply.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

20. Product Care

Where applicable, product listings or accompanying instructions may contain information about caring for your handmade item.

You should follow any care instructions supplied with the product.

Damage caused by inappropriate washing, cleaning, ironing, storage, use, alteration or other treatment outside the recommended care instructions may not be considered a product defect.

If you are unsure how to care for a particular product, please contact us before cleaning or treating it.

21. Sewing and General Safety

Some products or digital files may involve sewing, fabric, needles, pins, scissors, sewing machines, irons or other equipment.

Please use appropriate care and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions for any equipment or materials you use.

Take particular care when using:

  • Sewing machines
  • Needles and pins
  • Scissors
  • Rotary cutters
  • Irons
  • Heat sources
  • Small components
  • Other sewing or craft equipment

Adults should use appropriate judgement when allowing children to use sewing equipment or participate in craft activities.

We are not responsible for injury, damage or loss caused by misuse of sewing equipment, tools, materials or products, except where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.

22. Website Use

You agree to use owlbymytko.co.uk lawfully and responsibly.

You must not use the website to:

  • Commit or facilitate unlawful activity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our website or systems

  • Misuse our website, digital products or services

We reserve the right to restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect our business, customers, website, systems or intellectual property.

23. Website Content and Availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep the website and product information accurate and up to date.

However, we do not guarantee that:

  • The website will always be available
  • All information will always be completely error-free
  • All products will remain available
  • Product photographs will perfectly represent the colour or appearance of every physical item
  • Website functionality will always operate without interruption

We may update, modify, suspend or discontinue products, website features or content from time to time.

Where you have already purchased a digital product, this does not normally affect your right to access the purchased product, subject to the nature of the product and applicable law.

24. Photographs and Colours

We make reasonable efforts to photograph our products accurately.

However, colours can appear differently depending on:

  • Your monitor
  • Smartphone
  • Tablet
  • Computer
  • Screen brightness
  • Display settings
  • Lighting conditions

For this reason, we cannot guarantee that the colour shown on your screen will be identical to the physical product.

Small differences in fabric pattern placement are also normal for handmade products.

25. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Subject to applicable law, we will not be responsible for losses that:

  • Were not reasonably foreseeable
  • Were not caused by our breach of these Terms
  • Result from circumstances outside our reasonable control
  • Result from misuse of a product
  • Result from incorrect information supplied by the customer

For digital products, we cannot be responsible for problems caused solely by your device, software, internet connection, printer or other equipment outside our control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.

26. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control

We will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

These may include:

  • Significant technical failures
  • Website or hosting problems
  • Internet outages
  • Postal or courier disruptions
  • Strikes
  • Severe weather
  • Power failures
  • Cyber incidents
  • Government restrictions
  • Supply interruptions
  • Other circumstances that could not reasonably have been prevented

Where reasonably possible, we will take appropriate steps to minimise the impact and restore affected services.

27. Privacy

We take the privacy of our customers seriously.

Personal information provided when you place an order or contact us may be processed for purposes including:

  • Processing and fulfilling orders
  • Providing digital downloads
  • Communicating with customers
  • Providing customer support
  • Processing payments
  • Meeting legal and accounting requirements
  • Operating and improving our business

Further information about how personal information is handled is provided in our Privacy Policy.

28. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, payment services, delivery services, social media platforms or other external services.

We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to the third party’s own terms and policies.

29. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to:

  • Our products
  • Our services
  • Our website
  • Our business practices
  • Applicable laws or regulations

The latest version will be published on owlbymytko.co.uk together with the relevant update date.

Changes will not affect rights that you have already acquired where doing so would be unlawful.

30. Governing Law

If you are a consumer, you may also have mandatory legal rights under the laws applicable to you. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict those rights.
