I’m Aldona, the dreamer, maker and slightly fabric-obsessed human behind OwlByMytko.

It all started with something so small and soft — 3D sleep masks. I sewed one for myself, then one for a friend, and then ten more because I couldn’t stop. People kept asking, “Where did you get that?” and stitch by stitch, a small joy turned into my everyday life.

Along the way, I kept learning, because I fell completely in love with the world of pattern drafting. I got pulled into graphic programs that have no end to what they can do — the more I learn, the more I see how much more I can create. That love for construction is why my patterns are made to fit well, to drape nicely, and to give you joy while sewing, not frustration.

For a long time I thought I had to be more ready, more perfect. Now I know — you just need to start. With what you have. Where you are. One seam at a time.

If you’re holding your first pattern from me, please know I made it the way I would sew for myself. Solid, simple and from the heart. That’s why I include a slow, step-by-step video with each one — so you can sew alongside me, pause, breathe, and really enjoy it.

You don’t have to sew perfectly. You just have to sew joyfully.
